I highly recommend this IFAK. Blood-loss is the number one cause of preventable death.
There are a few important things to consider when building or buying an IFAK:
1. Transportability (weight, size, shape, attachment etc).
2. High quality and vetted items and materials
3. Can be opened quickly with one hand
4. No unnecessary items.
This IFAK has all four.
Transport: Using one or two d rings I can attach it to belt loops, my backpack, or even my purse. It isn’t extremely light, but it certainly isn’t heavy. I wanted something that was noticeable to others in public, and obviously medical- the IFAK design (in red) has that, and I added an extra neon orange CAT tourniquet on the exterior for extra noticeability. I’m Hard-of-Hearing but I prefer to use sign language or writing and often don’t use my hearing aids, meaning I’m often effectively deaf. I don’t know if I can use my voice in an emergency effectively, but I’m confident that I can help others or myself now thanks to classes (I will attend more) and this IFAK. Because of the recognizable design, if I am unable to notice an emergency, but someone nearby notices me, they can run to me or get someone else to get my attention- meaning I am still available for assistance even if I don’t have my hearing aids on.
Quality: the IFAK itself is high quality, but so are the contents. Easily recognizable items and brands that are all approved (I believe) by the Committee on Tactical Combat Casualty Care (CoTCCC). I trust my life to this gear, and I trust that it is capable of saving others lives as well.
Ease of Access: like I said, the IFAK can be easily opened with one hand. Even if one of my arms is severely injured, I believe I can open it and/or access the items I need to keep myself alive until more help arrives. This may not seem obvious at first, but in a worst case scenario, you will be glad you have this feature, because it can save your life. The inside is also designed well. It isn’t just a bag where everything will fall out the moment you open it.
No Fluff: The final important thing about this IFAK I want to mention is that there isn’t any unnecessary items. Many people add unnecessary items to their kit which simply cause delays in emergencies or worse, take the place of needed equipment. This IFAK does not contain things that are for insignificant injuries, or non-urgent ones- nor should it. I can carry neosporin, a couple bandaids, and some aloe-Vera somewhere else. The point of something like this is to take the time that it will take for an individual to die and extend it to the point that they will survive until more help can arrive and stabilize the patient until they can get to a hospital or medical center.
I would also like to add that I simply removed the clothes shears (I didn’t order any decompression needles) and was able to take this into an airport through TSA (ymmv) and onto a plane. There are only really a few situations where it would be needed after I’ve boarded a plane and most are during a situation where I would likely already be dead, but it’s good to have and worthy of noting I was able to do this.
Like I said, I highly recommend this to anyone looking for an IFAK.

My 1st Vanquest pouch, as well as order from SkinnyMedic, and it made me like it enough to get the little brother version as a BooBoo kit. Best IFAK for the price and all around sweet. My only complaint would be it doesn't come with MOLLE Sticks or Velcro on the back but that's a Vanquest issue not SkinnyMedic's I pulled the trigger on it and I carry it daily, what you do with said info is on you and yours.

Happy to say I have a good trauma kit that I can rely on now. The bag is very well made, I feel like I could stab this with a knife several times and it still wouldn't tear. The contents are perfect for what I need and I've even made plans to add a few personalizations. Very satisfied with the product.
I bought this kit to serve more serious injuries while out in the deep woods. Everything about this kit is excellent. The Maxpedition bag is superb quality and the stiff plastic MOLLE attachment "bars" really hold it well on my carry bag. Upon receiving it, I realized that I would need a second medic bag for the rest of the necessities. I would not change the 8x10 size, since that works with the MOLLE system, but be aware that you will need a second bag to hold the more common used items like band aids, asprin, antacid, etc...you know, the stuff that gets used most out there in the woods.
Changes I would propose:
Ditch the tape and replace with 3M VetWrap.
The Skinny Medic velcro patch doesn't fit on the Maxpedition bag.
A trauma kit (and training) was strongly recommended by my Jeep club. I saw this one reviewed in a couple YT videos. Great quality pack and contents. I got a headrest hook and this hangs off the passenger headrest so I can grab it quickly in an emergency.
